Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is an effective physical method of treating Myofascial Trigger points which can be used to help to ease chronic pain and muscular stiffness.

If you have ever wanted to be able to treat those sore painful "knots" effectively, then this course is for you!

This 1-day course is designed specifically for massage therapists and bodyworkers and aims to provide a solid foundation of both theory and clinical practice.

It will focus on how to locate, as well as how to use a range of treatment methods and techniques for treating given Trigger Points.

The training is intended to provide the practitioner with a wider understanding in the therapeutic treatment of clients as well as adding to the arsenal of tools which are available during a massage treatment.

The course will also cover important homecare advice which patients can follow and include self-stretches to prevent Trigger Points reoccurring
Trigger Point Massage techniques can be used in conjunction with many other therapies and the course will explore the many other disciplines in which this can be incorporated.

What you will learn during the workshop:

  • Theory of Trigger Points - their causes and different types
  • Common Trigger Point referral patterns
  • How to locate Trigger Points - how and what to feel
  • How to treat painful and sore muscular “knots”
  • Practical application of Trigger Point techniques
  • Various methods of treatment – including, Neuromuscular Technique (NMT) and stretching. Other methods will also be discussed – cold, heat, cupping etc.
  • Treat conditions like Low Back Pain, Neck Pain, Headaches, Frozen Shoulder etc.
  • Specific client homecare advice to prevent reoccurrence
  • Practitioner Posture and Effective Massage
  • Learn "Effective Trigger Point Massage" technique
  • Discuss the use of "Massage Tools"

Bhavesh qualified as an Osteopath from the British School of Osteopathy and has been practising and lecturing for over 30 years. He is the Principal of the London School of Massage which was set up in 1994.    

He was the Clinical Director and a Senior lecturer at the College of Osteopaths (2000) as well as holding the post of Senior Lecturer (Applied Anatomy) and Clinical Supervisor at the London School of Osteopathy (1995 - 2000). He has also worked for the British School of Osteopathy as a "Demonstrator in Anatomy", lecturing to Osteopathic students at the Royal College of Surgeons.    

He is a qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier for the various examination boards as well as attaining his teacher training qualifications. Bhavesh is also a qualified NLP Practitioner, Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist and has trained in Ayurvedic treatments and massage techniques in Central and South India. He is a gifted teacher who has a knack of making subjects easy and understandable as well as helping individuals realise their full potential.    

Bhavesh is Board Member of the World Massage Council and is on the panel of Think Tree (UK) who he represents on the GCMT (General Council for Massage Therapy).  

He teaches, and is involved with most of the courses including, Anatomy, Physiology & Holistic Massage, Sports Injuries & Massage and has co-authored a book entitled "Secrets of Massage" (Ivy Publishing). He is a well renowned international lecturer and is also currently training sports massage therapists at the National Institute of India (Sports Authority of India) who subsequently treat top and international athletes in the country.  

Bhavesh is a regular judge at National and International Massage Championships.
