Welcome to this Somatic Voice and Movement Medicine® weekend with Yasia exploring our Medicine Songs.
Trauma Informed Voicework: has been developed by Yasia over the past 20 years. is a way of opening and unlocking the power of your voice with the understanding that for any of us to reclaim our voices, we are making an epically brave leap, considering our combined histories in terms of voice. This approach is a non-judgmental approach to the voice and not about 'singing in tune' or making a 'nice sound' although nice sounds do occur! Its more about receiving and welcoming your true authentic voice, in an environment of unequivocal encouragement, respect and support, loosening the shame we have around our voices, bringing compassion to the fear and judgement that can often hold us back in fuller expression of Self on all levels. www.yasia.org
Movement Medicine® is a movement practice, and a synthesis of shamanic, therapeutic and devotional pathways. Movement Medicine provides a contemporary map to support, deepen and enrich your dance both on the dance floor and through life. https://www.schoolofmovementmedicine.com/
Friday evening is an evening of working with the natural voice, practices to support and open your voice in a playful, non judgemental and welcoming environment. Expect simple guided exercises in voice, sounding and dance, with some guided movement to support and open the voice, plus some group singing together. No voice or singing experience needed.
The weekend workshop is a deep dive into Voice, Movement, Sound and Song working with the beautiful structures of Ceremony, Movement Medicine® and Somatic Voice work.
Learn how to listen for a song, how to invite, greet and welcome songs that land with you during this natural listening field we will create together.
A space to reclaim the song lines in your lineages and land, for reclaiming your inner musician and for deep listening for your true Voice, and your Medicine Songs. Your own Songs for healing, Empowerment and Resilience for these times. Space to resource yourself with silence, movement, sound and song, to invite the songs that live in side each one of us.
