At East West Centre, living in balance is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by a holistic vision, we aim to contribute to health, quality of life, and resilience—for individuals and for the world around us.
Since 1978, we’ve been offering fresh, inspiring, and transformative courses in areas like meditation, yoga, dance, massage, trauma healing, shamanism, vegan cooking, and permaculture. Our offerings are diverse, but the intention is always the same: helping people grow at their own pace, in their own way.
We also provide high-quality professional training programs, including in shiatsu, foot reflexology, craniosacral therapy, nutrition & vitality, and inner child work.
East West Centre is supported by an enthusiastic team of over 50 instructors and a dedicated core of staff. People from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of talents, working together with care and commitment.
Our courses take place at various locations across Flanders and in the peaceful natural surroundings of the Ardennes.
In Orval, you can help out in the kitchen, garden, or house in exchange for meals and accommodation. Whether for a few days or a few weeks, you’ll enjoy fresh, organic, vegetarian food and sleep in a (shared) twin room. More info and the application form can be found at www.boislecomte.be.
In Antwerp, you can contribute to workshops and open days. This might be a one-time thing or a regular commitment—from an hour to several days a week. What do we ask of you? A warm heart for our mission, a sustainable mindset, and an open, honest attitude. As a volunteer, you’ll receive discounts on our courses. Here are some of the ways you can help in Antwerp:
1. COURSE RECEPTION
Mostly in the evenings or on weekends. Perhaps you’d like to help one evening a week? Or one Saturday morning a month? Occasional help is also welcome.
2. ANTWERP ROUTE
Distribute flyers to fixed locations in the city. This happens during the day while shops and centers are open—perfect for someone who enjoys being on the move.
3. SPACE SETUP & DECORATION
Join us once a month to add some atmosphere to our rooms. Creative hands welcome!
4. OPEN HOUSE DAYS & EVENTS
From greeting guests to running the bar, setting up to cleaning up—and everything in between. Tasks may include decorating, handing out flyers, guiding visitors, or assisting in workshops. Together, we create a warm and smooth event experience.
5. COOKING CLASS MANAGER
Keep track of materials and ingredients, check expiry dates, and make sure the kitchen stays tidy. Ideal for someone who wants to commit weekly.
6. COOKING CLASS ASSISTANT
Wash and chop vegetables, clean up, and do dishes—during and after class.
7. OTHER TASKS
Almost daily: prepare and send out mailings
Biweekly: check supplies and tidy up spaces
Monthly: copy materials, do errands, fold flyers
